For the multiple-choice questions in the MET paper, one mark will be deducted for wrong answers. However, there is no negative marking for numerical answer type questions. Students should be careful while attempting the multiple-choice questions. The marking scheme should be checked before the exam.

The question paper will be broken up into sections in accordance with the format of the MET exam. The MET question paper is divided into four sections: English, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. To increase their chances of receiving the necessary scores for admission, candidates must attempt all of the sectional questions. There will be no more time offered; the entire MET will take two hours to complete. Applicants may choose to skip portions of the test and return to the question at a later time to try it out. It must, however, be completed in the exam's allocated time.

The several topics and units of the curriculum that need to be studied for the test are included in the MET syllabus. It should be noted that the MET course will mirror the 12th grade qualifying exam. It is advised that applicants study the official exam pattern to comprehend the division of questions into different sections of the test paper.
