I’m not sure about the specific details of the application process for MHT CET counseling. However, I found an article that says that the candidates need to fill out their choice of colleges and courses online. The selection of choices has to be done in the order of preference. You can visit the official website of the State Entrance Test Cell (Maharashtra) for more information.

Hello Sumit Jadhav, normally speaking the admissions to various engineering colleges in Maharashtra are based on the entrance exam conducted by the state government called MHT CET. Of course, the IIT and NIT which are located at Mumbai and Nagpur follow the set pattern of admissions via JEE advanced and JEE Mains respectively through j o s a. There are however certain colleges which offer seats based on JEE main ranking. There is a quota called all India quota and seats under this category are filled up by using JEE Mains ranking as the criteria. The process of MHT CET counselling and seat allotment consists of several processes. Once a seat is allotted to a candidate, he/she has the option of “Accept and Freeze” and “Accept and Float”. If a candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and selects the first option, he/she cannot participate in the next round counselling. If the candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat, he/she can select the second option trough which he/she can participate in the next round counselling with the current seat.

Once a seat is allotted, candidate has to login to the counselling website and select “Accept and Freeze” option. After the option is selected, candidate will be issued a provisional seat allotment letter with details of college and branch and fee to be paid. Candidate will need to pay the fees online through credit/debit card or internet banking. Once the fee payment is done, the seat allotment will be confirmed.

No, there is no mock seat rounds in MHT CET counselling. The CET Cell conducts MHT CET counselling in three or four rounds. Candidates after registering for the counselling have to enter their preferred choice of college and branch in the order of preference. The allotment of seats will be made on the basis of All India Rank and choices filled by the candidate.
