MIT only awards financial aid based on financial need, and does not award academic, athletic, or other merit scholarships. MIT is one of only seven colleges in the United States that is need blind and full need for all undergraduate students. For 2023–2024, MIT plans to award $164.1 million in need-based scholarships.

Yes, MIT Academy of Engineering does have a refund policy for fees paid by students. Refunds, if applicable, are credited back to the account/card from where the transaction was initiated. The refund policy specifically applies to the Program Fee paid by the student, with no refund allowed for Application Fee and Admission Registration Fee.
