Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training is a new specialised navy academy established in 2018 by MIT ADT University in association with the Indian Navy. While it does not rank among top colleges presently, it has approvals from DG Shipping and AICTE. Its parent MIT ADT University also has low rankings currently. However, the focused naval training and connections with the Navy provide good credibility and prospects. The BTech Marine Engineering programme is the flagship course. Though traditional rankings are low owing to nascency, the niche focus provides potential for future growth and placements in the naval domain.

Admissions to the Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET) are determined by UGC rules, AICTE regulations, and DG Shipping policies. The minimum eligibility criteria for an MBA at MIT ADT University Pune is as follows:
•A bachelor's degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, or Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised university or institution
•A valid score in the common admission test (CAT) or any other equivalent entrance exam
•Two years of work experience
