PERA CET 2026: Admissions through PERA CET is expected to start in February 2026. PERA India, the conducting body will release official notification at peraindia.in. The common entrance test is held to offer admissions to various private universities in Maharashtra. Preeminent Education and Research Association - Common Entrance Test is conducted in multiple sessions in April and May 2026. 

Candidates qualifying PERA CET 2026 exam can apply for various programmes, such as BTech, BBA, MBA, Pharmacy, integrated courses, etc. In addition, scores of JEE Main or MHT CET are also accepted for admission. To apply, candidates must fulfill PERA India eligibility criteria and fill PERA CET application form online and submit it within the due date.

What is PERA CET?

Preeminent Education and Research Association or PERA is a federation of the state private universities of Maharashtra, set up with the aim to promote quality education in streams such as Engineering, Management, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Teaching and Fine Arts. The association conducts a multi-stream entrance exam, PERA CET, for students interested in pursuing undergraduate and post-graduation from Maharashtra institutes associated with PERA. PERA CET will be considered as an additional test to other entrance exams like (JEE, MH-CET, Uni-Gauge, ATMA, CAT, MAT & other equivalent National or State Level Exams).

Fulfilling the PERA CET 2026 eligibility criteria is a must for candidates applying for the entrance exam. Also, candidates must note that PERA CET is conducted only for professional programmes. Check below for more for details.

Eligibility Criteria for Preeminent Education and Research Association - Common Entrance Test

To be eligible for PERA CET, canddidates must meet the following -

  • For UG programmes, candidates must have passed 12th or equivalent from a recognised board and have Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology as their compulsory subjects.
  • For PG-specific programmes, undergraduate degree from a recognised university or institute is a must. 
  • The minimum qualifying mark/percentage is 45% for general category and 40% for reserved category.
  • Students currently studying class 12th or final year appearing applicants can also apply for PERA CET 2026 admission
  • There is no upper-age limit for BTech or BE courses.

The PERA CET eligibility criteria for the BTech course is a class 12 pass with PCMB or equivalent from a recognised board or university. That is, a candidate applying for UG should have completed Class 12 or equivalent in a relevant field from a recognised board or university. Also, students in Class 12 who are awaiting their board results are also eligible to apply for the PERA CET.

Q:   What is the PERA CET eligibility criteria for PG courses?
A: 

The PERA CET eligibility criteria for PG courses is a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant stream from a recognised board or university. Also, final-year graduation students or those awaiting final results are eligible to apply. The question paper for the PG course will be designed on the basis of the respective degree-level syllabus.

PERA CET 2026 Exam Pattern

Preeminent Education and Research Association -Common Entrance Test is conducted on multiple dates online as a remote-proctored mode or at designated centres. Candidates applying can check PERA CET exam pattern below -

  • Entrance test is conducted online
  • Questions will be in MCQ format of 10+2 level syllabus
  • The total time duration of the exam is 2 hours
  • PERA CET question paper will have a total of 100 questions of 2 marks each (total marks - 200)
  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • While attempting the exam in remote-proctored mode, students will be monitored continuously by the online invigilator present during the test.

Candidates must note that PERA CET score is considered for 1st year in PERA Member Universities.

Students applying for MTech (all engineering branches) will have 100 MCQs of 2 marks each. The total time duration of the test will be 2 hours for 200 marks.

Q:   What type of exam is PERA CET?
A: 

PERA CET is an objective-type exam. The pattern of the question papers for UG and PG programmes is the same, but the syllabus is different for UG and PG and as per the respective course. That is, the question papers will be separate for the respective courses. The question paper for the UG course is designed based on the respective 12th standard syllabus, and for the PG course, it is designed based on the respective degree level syllabus.

Q:   Is PERA CET Exam tough?
A: 

The exam pattern for PERA CET will be separate for the respective courses. The PERA CET exam pattern for UG will be designed based on the respective 12th standard syllabus. Also, the syllabus of the PERA CET is somewhat less than the syllabus of JEE Mains and BITSAT. There will be no negative marking for any of the PERA CET Examinations. Therefore, we can say that it is not as difficult as the JEE Mains exam. One thing that can't be ignored is that if preparation and practice are done in the correct way, then nothing is difficult. The syllabus or standard of questions may vary. There should be deep knowledge regarding the exam, syllabus, and pattern. To maintain consistency daily for achieving goals also plays a vital role.

PERA CET Result 2026

The conducting body, PERA India will declare PERA CET 2026 result after the completion of the exam. Students who had appeared for the exam will be able to check their qualifying status on the official website. In addition, the conducting body will also send a welcome mail on candidate's registered email ID mentioning the steps on how to access the result and scorecard from the dashboard. To access PERA CET result, candidates can follow the process below -

PERA CET Counselling 2026 Process

PERA CET counselling 2026 will start after the declaration of the result. The Preeminent Education and Research Association (PERA) along with participating colleges will conduct counselling in phases. Candidates who qualified in PERA CET 2026 will be eligble for the counselling.
