For admission in advanced music courses at AAFT like M.A., a graduation in music is usually needed. Alankar Visharad is an added advantage but not a strict requirement.

After graduation, you can apply for M.A. in Music at AAFT, provided you meet the eligibility criteria. They have an entrance process and you may need to appear for an audition and interview.

Yes, Chennai students can apply for music admission at Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam in Puducherry. The institute accepts students from all regions, provided they have completed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognised board. Admission is based on an aptitude test conducted by the institute, and there are no restrictions based on the applicant's geographic location.

At BHU for CUET PG admissions (e.g. MA/M.P.A Music) in General (All India) category, closing scores ranged roughly from 5 to 650 depending on the specialisation in 2025. For the performing arts courses, the closing scores were around to c. actual 620-699, with MA Music specifically likely in the lower end (and possibly under 200).
