The various components of the NID fee structure for the B.Des and M.Des programme inlcudes components like tuition fees, insurance fees, student activity fund, film club fees, and alumni fees. The tuition fees have the highest contribution to the overall fees.

There is no cap on the number of candidates who can appear for th NID DAT.
For 2025 admission, candidates can apply for admission and NID DAT. NID DAT was held in the month of January.
If the National Institute of Design releases the exam statistics for the NID DAT exam, the details will be updated here. Note that the current session of the NIFT exam is conducted by the NTA. Students can also check detailed NID DAT preparation here.

No, candidates who are looking for BDes course admission at NID Jorhat must sit and appear for DAT. Design Aptitude Test or DAT is that part of design exams that checks the creativity of the candidates. It is not easy to crack DAT section in a short period of time. One should have a good practice of drawing, sketching and on the spot design-solution to clear DAT.

The application fee of NID DAT 2025 for the BDes for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates is INR 3,000. SC, ST, PwD candidates only ned to pay INR 1,500. However note that the application fees for overseas candidates seeking admission to supernumerary seats is INR 5000. In case of the M.Des programme, the application fees for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates applying for one discipline is INR 3,000. If two disciplines are chosen, the application fee is INR 6000. Meanwhile, SC, ST, PwD candidate need to pay INR 1,500 for one discipline, and INR 3000 for two disciplines.

For admission to the BDes course, students need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Candidates must sit and appear for DAT entrance exam to get admission for BDes course at National Institute of Design, Jorhat . NID Jorhat commenced the first batch of Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) in 2019. This batch is yet to pass out and hence the placements have not taken place. Keeping in mind the placement record of other NIDs, it would not be wrong to say that NID Jorhat placements will witness leading companies from the fashion industry to offer job opportunities to the talented pool of students.
The highest package for B.Des students at NID Jorhat is INR 78 million per annum, offered by leading international design firms to students in the Ceramics and Glass Design program

The latest cutoff information for admission to B.Des at NID Jorhat is as follows:
- For the Open category, GEN EWS candidates, and overseas candidates, the qualifying cutoff is 50%.
- OBC-NCL candidates need to secure a cutoff of 45%.
- Candidates in the SC, ST, and PwD categories have a qualifying cutoff of 40%.
