There is no cap on the number of candidates who can appear for th NID DAT. 

For 2025 admission, candidates can apply for admission and NID DAT. NID DAT was held in the month of January.

Design Aptitude Test or DAT is that part of design exams that checks the creativity of the candidates. It is not easy to crack DAT section in a short period of time. The application fee of NID DAT 2025 for the BDes for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates is INR 3,000. SC, ST, PwD candidates only ned to pay INR 1,500. However note that the application fees for overseas candidates seeking admission to supernumerary seats is INR 5000. In case of the M.Des programme, the application fees for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates applying for one discipline is INR 3,000. If two disciplines are chosen, the application fee is INR 6000. Meanwhile, SC, ST, PwD candidate need to pay INR 1,500 for one discipline, and INR 3000 for two disciplines.

For admission to the BDes course, students need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Candidates must sit and appear for DAT entrance exam to get admission for BDes course at National Institute of Design, Jorhat . Apart from this, the total tuition fee for the BDes course is INR 4.7 lakh.
