The BTech CSE last round rank for the General AI category in 2025 was 4245. In 2024 and 2023, the cutoff in the last round was 3365 and 4218, respectively. This difference in the ranks suggests the cutoff trend has been fluctuating over the years. Please note that other categories will have different cutoff trends.

To get admission at NIT Rourkela, General AI category students need to attain a rank of 85536 or below to be eligible, according to the last round NIT Rourkela JEE Main cutoff 2025.
For the students who belong to the General HS category, the required rank needed for admission was at least 127358 or below. Please note that other categories, quotas, etc., will have different cutoffs accordingly. For more information, click here.

NIT Rourkela JEE Mains cutoff 2025 concluded with the release of the final round cutoff. For the General AI category, the BTech CSE overall cutoff ranged from 3122 to 4245. On the other hand, for the General HS category, the overall cutoff varied between 7371 and 7853. Students should know that the cutoff range will vary for each different category.

IIT Bhubaneswar tuition fee for two-year M.Tech is INR 20,000. While the tuition fee amount is INR 1.4 lakh at NIT Rourkela. Considering this, studying at IIT Bhubaneswar is economical. However, students can consider other factors as well during college selection. The mentioned fee is as per official website or the sanctioning body. It is still subject to revision and hence, is indicative.

The selection is based on the JEE mains rank through JoSAA counselling.You need basic board criteria like 75 percent.

NIT Rourkela offers admission to MSc specialisations on the basis of IIT JAM exam results, followed by CCMN counselling. NIT Rourkela CCMN cutoff has been released for round 5. The cutoff was released category-wise for the All India category candidates. Among the General AI category, the closing ranks varied between 192 and 1020. The most competitive specialisation among the General AI category candidates turned out to be M.Sc. in Life Science.

The closing rank for general category in M.Sc Chemistry was around 787.
You rank is actually very close to the cutoff.
You may receive a seat in 2nd round or 3rd round as it might change across the rounds when seats freed.

Choose NISER Bhubaneswar if you're research oriented, aiming for top PhD programs or R&D positions, and prefer a stipend-supported campus with strong scientific mentorship.
Choose NIT Rourkela if you want a blend of academic education and industry-ready placements, with flexibility to pursue engineering roles or analytic jobs.

The basic eligibility requirement to get admission into M.Tech courses at NIT Rourkela and NIT Andhra Pradesh is almost similar. Moreover, NIT Rourkela & NIT Andhra Pradesh M.Tech course admission is based on a valid Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE) score obtained by eligible candidates. Thus, it is hard to compare which institution is easier to get admission to. However, there are several other factors on which candidates can compare the competitiveness to get admission into the M.Tech course at both institutes:
