NUS used to operate at the Bukit Timah campus, until a gradual shift began in 1969 to the Kent Ridge campus. The relocation took place over a duration of 17 years, before finally completing in 1986.
The university began setting up entrepreneurial centres across the campus, with the opening of the Centre for Management of Innovation & Technopreneurship in 1988.

The National University of Singapore has a total of 3 campuses located across: Kent Ridge, Outram & Bukit Timah.
NUS houses over 50,000 students & more than 12,000 members of staff as part of its institutional umbrella.
Further, there are 16 colleges, faculty members & schools along with 48 research institutes & centres as part of the university's institutional umbrella.
It also aims to plant around 100,000 trees by the year 2030.

The university started as a medical school named King Edward VII Medical School in 1913.
In 1960, it was renamed to the University of Singapore & eventually a merger with Nanyang led to the start of NUS.

International students must follow the admission process below:
- Step 1- International students have to choose a program among various bachelor's, diploma, and certificate programs and eligibility criteria.
- Step 2- Now go to the official website to apply and fill out the required details like essay, standardized test score, English language score and more.
- Step 3- NUS application fee is SGD 20 for UG and SGD 100 for PG international students.

Yes, the National University of Singapore does not directly issue work permit to its international students. However, international students need to apply for a work pass through the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). During term breaks, all international students enrolled at NUS with an ICA student pass are permitted to work without submitting an application for a work permit.

Yes, students at NUS are permitted to work until 16 hours per week during academic year and an unlimited number of hours during summer break if they have a valid Student's Pass.
