NIFT Entrance Exam Eligibility

Hi,
B.Des in Fashion Design is a 4-year undergraduate course, the minimum eligibility for which is a Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2) qualification with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. The programme is spread over 8 semesters, with the final semester being based on the candidate's chosen stream of study.

As per the NIFT Prospectus-2019, there is no such barrier of the percentage of marks for class 12th exam for B.Des programs. As per eligibility criteria, NIFT needs class 12th pass only. Hence, there is no need to worry about class 12th marks.

NIFT 2018 Eligibility Criteria:
As per the eligibility criteria of NIFT 2018, the maximum Age- 23 years as on October 1, 2017. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person With Disability (PHP) subject to following qualifications.

The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

NIFT lateral entry admission provides an opportunity of NIFT education to candidates who have completed their Diploma/ Degree in relevant/related fields of Fashion Design & Technology for direct admission to the third semester of UG programmes of NIFT at NIFT campuses. Unfortunately, you are not eligible for NIFT as candidates are only considered eligible to apply for NIFT Entrance Test if they are 23 years of age or below as on October 1, 2017.
