At Nirma University, "sponsored seats" refer to the NRI Sponsored category, which is part of the NRI quota. These students are Indian citizens whose sponsorship comes from an NRI relative or guardian who resides abroad.
Under the NRI / NRI? Sponsored category, up to 15% of total intake seats are reserved, depending on the program. For example, in B.Tech and integrated programmes like B.Tech–MBA, they are super numerary to the All India & State quotas .
It is not a "management quota"—admissions follow a merit-based process, albeit separate from regular state or JEE based admissions.
