To apply for the National Institute of Technology Agartala BTech course, candidates must visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to apply for the JEE Main entrance test. The final selection is based on Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process. Students appearing at their final year graduation examination may also apply (with eligibility criteria up to last completed semester) Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally and candidates have to submit certificate of completion of the graduation degree. If they are not able to fulfil the eligibility criteria or unable to submit certificate of completion of the graduation degree, their admission will stand cancelled.

NIT Agartala offers MBA course in a full-time mode. The course is taught by the School of Management, Humanities and Social Science at the institute. The total seat intake for MBA is 38.
