No, admission to NIT Calicut BTech course is entirely based on merit obtained in JEE Main entrance exam. Candidates can take the test by registering online on the NTA website (nta.ac.in). The students who secure a score greater than or equal to the cutoff marks become eligible for participation in the JoSAA counselling, which is conducted for the final seat allotment. Futher, vacant seats are filled with CSAB Counselling process.

Admission to MBA at NIT Calicut courses are completely entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to this course must apply and appear for the CAT exam in the first place. After the CAT result declaration, candidates must apply for MBA on the official website of NIT Calicut. Further, the shortlisted candidates have to appear for GD and PI rounds for the final selection. After the completion of all the selection rounds, the final result will be declared on the official website of NIT Calicut.
