Jalandhar NIT is ranked 58th by NIRF 2024 under the Engineering category. Jalandhar NIT is also ranked 204 by the QS Rankings 2024 under the Asian University Rankings - Southern Asia category and 651-700 under the Asian University Rankings category. Hence, Jalandhar NIT can be considered a good college. Also as per the Shiksha verified review, the college is rated 3.9/5 which is a decent rating. 

NIT Jalandhar offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in the fields of Management, Sciences, Engineering and Technology. The popular programmes of this institute are BTech and MTech. In addition, NIT Jalandhar also offers PG Diploma programmes in Management and Engineering. 

NIT Jalandhar arranges various fests and events for students. Recently, the NIT Jalandhar arranged the annual cultural fest “UTKANSH”. A lot of students belonging to various countries and states take part in this fest. Another popular fest arranged by the college is the Bharat Dhawani -Annual Foundation Day. At every exit and entry point, there are security staff available who restrict the entry of anyone who does not have an entry card or prior permission. 

NIT Jalandhar desires 100% attendance. Exception can be provided to students on account of late registration, sickness, or other such contingencies. To appear in exams, 75% of attendance is needed. A student with less than 75% of attendance in a programme during a semester will be awarded a ‘W’ Grade in that programme irrespective of his/her performance in the exams/tests.
