NIT Trichy - National Institute of Technology Admission Process

The admissions process at NIT Trichy is solely entrance-based. For the relevant courses, candidates must be eligible to sit for national entrance exams like JEE Main, IIT JAM, CAT, etc. In addition, candidates need to show up for extra rounds of selection, such as the MBA Personal Interview (PI) round. Applicants must register and show up for the counselling procedure run by certain counselling bodies if they receive a legitimate score in the relevant entrance exam that satisfies the requirements of the course. NIT (National Institute of Technology), Trichy offers MCA to candidates who have completed their graduation/ bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) or above (55% for SC/ ST) from a recognised university with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Math as one of the subjects in any one of the semester/ years. NITs conduct NIT MCA Common Entrance Test, also known as NIMCET which is a National Level Entrance Test for admission to the MCA course. Admissions are based on the ranks scored by the candidates in the NIMCET through a Single Window Centralized Counseling/ Seat Allotment. Candidates need to apply to each NITs separately, so keep that in mind during application.
