As a freshman or transfer student, Northern Illinois University is automatically considered for merit, and housing scholarships that  are available for international students. For additional scholarship opportunities beyond International admissions scholarships, students can explore Financial Aid and scholarships. The merit scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0, ranging from USD5000 to USD9000 per academic year. The Housing Scholarship is provided at 3,000 annually. However, the scholarship mandates a GPA of 2.75/4.0 for both scholarships (Housing and Merit) .
