Hello friend,They will prefer those candidates who are in waiting list. There is no chance of upgrading. If the seats won't fill till the last moment then they can think about upgrade. But chances are less. You can atleast apply for upgrade. Then wait for their decision.Best of luck!

Hey Prayas,
Welingker Institute of management is a good college to pursue MBA. It has an impressive placement record as well as good overall rankings. You can proceed with the admission in the college. However there are even better options available which you can go for. If you are eligible for Welingkar you can apply for some other better colleges if you want and may also avail scholarships. Giving you a few suggestions -

Hi Shaarang,
Dalmia is definitely better for Finance if you compare it with welingkar, but I still feel the package offered in Welingkar is higher than that of Dalmia for sure.
Welingkar has a better brand name as compared to Dalmia and a lot of companies do look at from which MBA college are you from.
All the best make a wise decision.

Both the colleges are good . N.L. Dalmia is specifically known for its finance course because of the rigorous pedagogy and training.

Usually, the first list is out by May last week or June first week. Keep checking the Welingkar website regularly around that time.
There are various criteria on which each student is judged. This includes entrance score, GD, PI, psychometric test, creativity test and work ex. Maximum weightage is given to entrance exam scores and PI. According to the performance in each of these, scores are given and that is used to give ranking to each student.
