PSG College of Technology generally has a stronger reputation for its engineering and technology programs, offering more diverse and specialised courses, superior infrastructure, and better placement opportunities. It is known for its robust industry connections and highly qualified faculty. The fees at PSG College are higher, typically around INR 80,000 per year for undergraduate programs, compared to CMS College, where fees are approximately INR 50,000 per year. However, CMS College offers good education quality at a more affordable rate, with a focus on arts and Science programs. 

PSG College of Technology Coimbatore is a government-aided, private institute that was established in 1951. It is affiliated with Anna University and offers undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, and PhD programmes in the fields of  Science, Engineering, Technology, Computer Applications, and Management. PSG College of Technology is renowned for its flagship BE/ BTech programme. The institute accepts TNEA scores for admission to its BE/ BTech programmes.

The candidates who have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45% aggregate are eligible to apply for the desired BE programme. At the time of form filling and admission, the mark sheet/pass certificate also has to be presented for verification purposes. These documents are required for verification purposes. The TNEA exam results are used to determine a student's admission to the PSGCT Coimbatore program. Prior to submitting an application, students must meet the college's prerequisites. The PSGCT Coimbatore cut-off mark must be met by the students in addition to their qualifying exam results. The M.E/M. The tech admission process is based on the results of the GATE or TANCET exam and is preceded by TANCA counselling.

Entrance and merit-based are used to determine admission to courses at PSG College of Technology. The TNEA, GATE, CAT, MAT, and TANCET are a few of the approved tests. 

Entrance and counselling are the only factors used to determine admission to B.Tech, MBA, and M.Tech programs. Admission to the institute is determined by the entrance exams. To be admitted in B.Tech programme in the institute student must qualify the TNEA, for M.Tech GATE and TANCET. Likewise for MBA the accepted entrance exam is CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ TANCET, etc. and for MCA it is TANCET.  Candidates must appear for the entrance exam of the required courses, in order to be admitted at PSG College of Technology.
