Yes, absolutely. Most engineering colleges in Pune accept MHT CET scores for admission, and JEE Main is not compulsory. MHT CET is the primary entrance exam for Maharashtra engineering admissions and is conducted every year by the State CET Cell. Colleges like MIT-WPU, Symbiosis Institute of Technology, and VIT Pune all accept MHT CET scores. So even if you did not appear for JEE, you still have access to some very good engineering colleges in Pune.

For engineering specifically, Pune is actually a stronger choice than Mumbai for many students. Pune has a higher concentration of top engineering colleges, a booming IT industry, and a lower cost of living compared to Mumbai. Cities like Hinjewadi and Kharadi in Pune are major IT hubs where thousands of engineering graduates get placed every year. So if you are choosing between the two cities purely for engineering education and career prospects, Pune has a slight edge.

Yes, Pune has several good private engineering colleges that accept MHT CET scores even if your JEE rank is not very high. Colleges like Symbiosis Institute of Technology and MIT-WPU are popular choices. Admissions are mostly based on state-level entrance exams. So a low JEE score does not mean you have to compromise on quality.
