Admission to the PhD programme is based on an entrance test followed by an interview. Candidates with UGC-NET (including JRF), CSIR NET (including JRF), SLET, GATE, teacher fellowship score or who have passed MPhil Programme is exempted from the entrance exam but is required to appear for a Personal Interview (PI).

Admission to the PhD programme at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology is based upon a two-step process comprising an entrance test and a subsequent interview. However, candidates who possess qualifications such as UGC-NET (including JRF), CSIR NET (including JRF), SLET, GATE, teacher fellowship score, or have completed the MPhil Program are exempted from the entrance exam. Nonetheless, they are still required to participate in a Personal Interview (PI).

RAIT's M.Tech admission process relies solely on the entrance exam. To secure a seat for M.Tech at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, students must qualify in the GATE with a valid score. The final admission to the M.Tech programme is determined based on the GATE scores achieved by the candidates.

The selection process at RAIT for BTech is entirely entrance-based. Students are required to qualify JEE Main with a valid score to secure a seat for BTech at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology.  RAIT selects students based on their rank in JEE Main (Paper 1) or score in MHTCET.
