Admission to RIMS Ranchi for GNM or B.Sc Nursing depends on clearing the Nursing Entrance Competitive Examination (NECE). This exam is conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB). Students must fill the form as soon as it is released, usually around May-June.

Kashibai Ganpat Nursing College (KGNC) is known for its huge 600-bed hostel which is the most convenient place for outstation students. It is one of the best hostel facilities available in nursing colleges in the state. It is well-equipped with contemporary facilities for a nice accommodation.
