The cutoff for RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) varies depending on factors like the number of vacancies, the number of candidates who appeared, and the difficulty level of the exam. Generally, the cutoff is released after the results for each stage (CBT 1, CBT 2, and subsequent stages) are declared.
For the latest cutoff:
- CBT 1: This is a qualifying exam, and the cutoff depends on the category (General, OBC, SC, ST) and region.
- CBT 2: The cutoff is higher as it determines who proceeds to the next stage.
- Final Merit: Based on performance in the second stage and any skill test required.

Marks normalization is a statistical process used to adjust the scores of candidates who appear for the same exam but in different shifts. This method ensures that no candidate is disadvantaged or advantaged due to the difficulty level of the question papers varying across different shifts. RRBs use the percentile equivalence method for normalizing the scores of candidates.
