- RRB ALP is conducted in several stages first stage CBT, second stage CBT, and CBAT
- CBT 1 is common for ALP and Technician posts. RRB ALP syllabus for this stage includes Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness and Current Affairs
- CBT 2 is only for ALP posts, RRB ALP syllabus for this stage includes Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering along with questions from relevant trade
- CBAT is only for Technician post and comprises five test batteries related to the concerned trade

This facility is available only to SC/ST candidates. While filling up ONLINE application, such candidates, should choose 'Yes' from the drop down under 'Do you wish to avail free rail travel pass for the exam and fill up 'the nearest Railway Station'. It is the responsibility of the candidates availing free travel authority to give the correct name of the Railway Station in online application, failing which their travel authority may get rejected while obtaining reservation. They are also required to upload their Caste Certificate.

RRBs allots exam centres as per the preferences entered by candidates. However, the examination authority reserves the right to allot exam cities to candidates. There are chances that candidates are allotted exam cities outside the ones chosen by them. The examination authotity releases the RRB ALP exam city intimation slip so that candidates can make their travel arrangements accordingly.

At times due to the heavy load at the server, the admit card download page takes time to load. In such case, candidates should wait for some time and then try to download the admit card. Candidates are required to enter the login credentials correctly or else the page will show invalid login.

However, the direct link to download the admit card is provided on this page. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging with the required credentials.
