Currently, application forms are available for the October batch of Electro Technical Officers (ETO) and will be closing by the end of September. You are advised to not wait for last date due to last moment rush. Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies (SIMS) is one of the premier maritime training institutes in Pune. It offers Electro Technical Officer (ETO) training at SIMS, which includes:
Four-month residential pre-sea training at the state-of-the-art Ship-in-Campus
Eight months of onboard training as a trainee ETO after successful completion of the course
The candidate receives a Certificate of Competency (COC) after clearing an examination conducted by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India. Upon receiving a COC, a candidate is eligible to serve as an Electro-Technical Officer onboard a merchant ship. Eligibility criteria are:
The candidate should not be older than 28 years of age. They must have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication/Communication Engineering, or Electronics and Instrumentation, or an equivalent recognised by the AICTE or UGC with a minimum mark of 55% aggregate.
