Becoming a SAP FICO functional consultant is not a straightway process. FICO is more relevant for a Chartered Accountant. Basic operation in SAP is more the sufficient for a CA.

As per the best of my knowledge, actually, there is no eligibility criteria, but it is recommended. You have a minimum 2 years of domain knowledge and/or some SAP working experience as end user or team member, but it is not compulsory. If you have FICO SAP certification, this might help you to get the job without experience.
