Sardar Patel Institute of Technology don't grant direct admission unless the necessary entrance procedure is completed. Admission is typically determined by merit from tests like MHT-CET or JEE Main, depends on course. The results of entrance exams are still taken into account when choosing candidates for seats at the institute level. So yes you can't get direct addmission at SPIT

The primary requirement for admission is a valid GATE score, with higher scores being more competitive for popular branches. The difficulty of admission depends on the branch and the cut-off scores for that year.

If you're focused on your GATE preparation and have a strong academic record, pursuing M.Tec

I would recommend you IT branch at VJTI over Computer Engineering branch at SPIT because VJTI has higher NIRF ranking (71). This VJTI college has better infrastructural facilities with hostel, library, gym, cafeteria, hospital or medical facilities etc. This college has good placement records. Many companies visited the campus and recruited the students. The major recruiters are Infosys, Wipro, Reliance Industries Ltd etc. The average package offered to students is INR 7.65 lakhs. So, IT branch at VJTI is better than Computer Engineering branch at SPIT.
