South Asian University offers 18 courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels. The programmes include BTech, MTech, MSc, MA, LLM and PhD. The university offers admission to SAARC and non-SAARC regions. SAU conducts its own entrance exam for admission to all the courses. The university also accepts national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, CUET-UG, CUET-PG, CAT, MAT, XAT, GATE, etc. for admission to specific programmes.

Besides General Knowledge, Political Science, Geography, General Science and Civics of the Class 12 level, the entrance test also covers questions of LLB level. Aspirants with a valid score in CUET-PG can also get admission in the LLM programme.

SAU Delhi has a policy with regard to awarding freeships to students from economically weaker families. There are six Freeships with stipend for each Master/ MTech/ BTech programme of SAU. Out of these, three are given to Indian students and three to non-Indian students who have applied for the same and whose annual family income is below the specified amount, which would be determined by the Scholarship/Freeship Award Committee from time to time.

Yes, SAU Delhi provides Merit Scholarships to students for their financial assistance. The university provides two merit scholarships for each master's/ MTech/ BTech programme one for each Indian and non-Indian student. Below are the criteria for the Merit Scholarship offered at SAU:

  • These scholarships are offered to the Indian and non-Indian students who have secured the highest rank in the respective merit list of the SAU Entrance Test among the remaining students after awarding the SAU President scholarship and SAARC-India Silver Jubilee Scholarship.
