The exam is generally held in the month of May. You will be done with your class 12th exams by then. You cannot take SET before that.

Yes, ofcourse it will help you in getting into a good college.
But for Symbiosis, you need to clear the entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis but a good score in 12th always going to add a plus point.
