South Dakota State University (SDSU) generally considers a TOEFL score of 85 to be suitable for admission. A TOEFL score between 53 and 85 is needed for admission, according to the university's English Placement Policy, with certain score ranges required for placement in English courses. Furthermore, for undergraduate programs, the university requires a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 61 or an IELTS score of 5.5 from prospective overseas students. As a result, a TOEFL score of 85 is probably sufficient to satisfy SDSU's English language proficiency criterion for admission.
