As per the minimum eligibility, students need to pass graduation with 50% aggregate from a recognised university (45% aggregate for reserved category). Next, they need to qualify for any of the popular state or national-level entrance exam, which is particularly conducted for Management courses. For the final selection, students need to perform well in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds conducted at SIMMC.

Suryadatta College mainly offers PG and doctoral-level courses in the streams of Management and Computer Applications. For PG courses, the institute offers two-year courses of MBA and MCA across various Major and Minor specialisations. At doctoral-level, the institute also offers PhD course.
