Tagore Engineering College conducts admission to the B.E./B.Tech courses through TNEA, merit of the qualifying examination for admission shall be based on marks obtained by the candidate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the Qualifying examination. In management quota applications are welcome directly. One must have minimum 45% marks of aggregate in Class 12 examination, cumulative for general category candidates and 40% for reserved categories. Having applied for admission, candidates are required to register for TNEA, under go counseling process, and select the college according to the cutoff marks. 

Tagore Engineering College retains the policy that provides scholarships for students in need. The scholarships are offered according to student's academic achievements or merit in the TNEA exams along with financial status. All Indian government scholarships for SC/ST, OBC and economically backward classes are also available. Also, fee remission and scholarship facilities are available for youths who are outstanding academically or in sports. This initiatives ensures provision of quality education to students of different diverse group of students.

Various extra co curricular activities an clubs are available in Tagore Engineering College to involve and develop the students. Some of the existing club are Technical Club, Robotics Club, Literary Club, and the Eco Club. Hi. B.E/B.Tech eligibility criteria at Tagore Engineering College:

Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the HSC (+2) examination conducted by the state and through counselling (TNEA) conducted by Anna University Chennai, selected candidates are allotted to various colleges for admission. Candidates may also appear directly for admission to the College under Management Quota. Admission forms may be obtained from the college office.

Eligibility: + 2 or equivalent, as per norms and guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu/Anna University and AICTE for UG courses.

The last round cutoff of the course was 79323 in 2024. During the Tagore Engineering College cutoff in 2023, the closing cutoff was 69299, while in 2022, the cutoff stood at 84180. For the OBC category students, the TNEA last-round cutoff varied between 117124 and 182251.

It depends on the course in which the student is interested. Tagore Engineering College offers BTech, MTech, and MBA courses. Admission to the BTech, and MBA courses at the college is done based on the scores obtained in the entrance exams such as TNEA, TANCET, etc. Admission to MTech is done directly based on the scores obtained in the previous qualifications. You can also get direct admission under Management Quota.
