B.Com is a Bachelor's degree. In my opinion, Tally is no way helpful in completing a degree. I think tally software learning is not a part of the syllabus. So, Tally is not at all important in your studies. But If you want to work as an accountant, or as a finance professional, tally knowledge is highly desirable, because many of the business implement Tally ERP 9 as their accounting or business administration software. Nowadays, Tally is a complete payroll software, so you will need it if you want to be an HR professional also.

Tally which is a part of commerce field offers a great scope of jobs for the students, especially in India. After learning tally you can pursue a career in accountancy. You can option for Junior Accountant or Accountant Assistant. But it would be really recommended to finish professional courses of Accountancy to avoid any stagnation in near future. Professional courses recommended are CA, ICWAI, CPA, etc.

Yes, tally is somewhat beneficial for arts students who do BA or other arts courses. Also, do tally for its knowledge. So, tally is also beneficial because it can land you a part-time job also.

Tally is an ERP for Small and Medium size Enterprises. It has no directly relation with Electrician trade of ITI. You may use Its production planning module in manufacturing organisation.

Hi Deepak,
Tally is an accounting package which you may use for your day to to accounting and final accounts whereas SAP comes with bigger roles and application for overall enterprise level tool. SAP has multiple module with a combination of BPM and flows of different area of business.
Comparing SAP with Tally is bit unfair in order to scope and function. If you are from a accounts background and I presume you are new in industry then Tally is a package you need to learn in first place so that you will get to know how a software can help you for day to day accounting work but down the line SAP will help you on higher side for management
