Yes, you can absolutely appear for both the CAT and TANCET exams. They are separate entrance exams conducted for different purposes:

  • CAT (Common Admission Test): This national-level exam is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to their flagship MBA programs.
  • TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test): This state-level exam is conducted by Anna University for admission to postgraduate Management programs in Tamil Nadu colleges and universities.
  • There's no restriction on appearing for both exams. In fact, some students take both to increase their chances of getting into a good MBA program.

TANCET 2023 exam was conducted on March 25 in an offline mode. Initially, Anna University notified the exam date for TANCET 2023 as February 25 and 26. However, later, a change in exam name for engineering courses was seen, which led to postponement of the TANCET exam date. TANCET M.Tech exam is now known as CEETA PG. However, the website for both TANCET and CEETA PG remains the same, TANCET. Annauniv. Edu.

The TANCET cutoff scores are released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Chennai.

It's important to note that the official announcement and the cutoff scores themselves are not directly released by DTE. Here's the process:

  • Anna University conducts the TANCET exam.
  • After the exam results are declared, Anna University likely calculates the cutoffs based on factors like the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, and seat availability.
  • The final TANCET cutoff scores are then published on the Anna University website.

So, while DTE plays a crucial role in TANCET, you'll find the cutoff scores on Anna University's websit

To join the MBA programme at Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, it is not mandatory to have a TANCET score. Candidates can seek admission based on other criteria such as:

  • Meeting the eligibility requirements set by the institute.
  • Fulfilling the admission process and criteria specified by the university.

Therefore, while TANCET scores are not explicitly required for admission to the MBA programme at Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, candidates should ensure they meet all other relevant eligibility criteria and follow the prescribed admission procedures.
