The University of Texas at Austin, is ranked the #1 university in Texas. The institute ranks #20 as part of the country–level university rankings rolled out by Shiksha, while also securing a global rank #55, per the latest Shiksha rankings.
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World Rankings ranks it #66 as part of its World University Rankings 2025.

Tarleton ranks #26 in Texas, per the latest rankings of top colleges & universities in Texas rolled out by Shiksha.
The University of Texas at Austin is ranked the #1 institute in the region, #20 in the USA & #55 worldwide per the latest Shiksha Rankings.

The George Mason University acceptance rate stands at 91%, that suggests the institute is selective, but only to an limited extent, & generally is very lineant at granting admissions.
The same cannot be said for Texas A&M, however, as its acceptance rate of 63%, makes it much more selective, when compared with George Mason.
Prospective students should find it relatively easier to secure admissions at GMU than doing so at Texas A&M.

To get into Texas A&M University as an international student, the following requirements have to be met:
UG
- Submit the application
- The application essay
- Proof of English language proficiency
- Official high school transcript
- SAT / ACT scores (optional)
PG
- A Bachelor's or Professional degree (equivalent)
- Official academic transcripts and records
- GRE or any other equivalent test score
- Department-specific documents such as LOR, SOP, resume, etc.

A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required to get into Texas A&M MS in CS. The applicants must have a Bachelor's degree to take admission. The applicants can apply online to take admission. Other requirements are:
- Statement of Purpose
- Academic transcripts
- Three letters of recommendation
- Proof of English language proficiency scores
- Resume / CV
