Thapar University is known for its amazing placement records, especially in the Computer Science branch. Almost 80-90% of students are placed every year and of course, it is improving with time. Our super seniors in 2020 got offers from multiple companies. The highest package was 43 Lacs.

The placement cell of Thapar University has excellent placement records. They had 160 companies visiting them in 2017 for campus placements. More than 600 students got on campus placements with an avg CTC of 6.69L. Some of the recruiters being Wipro, HSBC, Reliance, Samsung, Whirlpool, Deloittee, IBM, Infosys, L&T, J. Like most of the engineering colleges, there are two criteria for getting admission in Thapar Institute, Patiala. One is on the basis of your JEE score and the other one is on the basis of your 12th class percentage (PCM or PCB). The division of seats for the above two is 70% and 30% respectively. You can choose as per your suiting. For more details regarding admission, you can visit their website http://www.thapar.edu/

As per my knowledge, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is one of the best engineering colleges in India if you're comparing between Thapar Institute and BITS Pilani. Amazing faculty, infrastructure, campus life, comfortable accommodation, food, and placement facilities make TIET worth it. Last year, almost 80 - 85% of students got placed with good packages in big companies like KPMG, IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. Since the faculty there have a strong corporate network, Internships provided to the students are quite good. It has a dedicated training and placement cell that makes sure that every student gets an internship.
