With a score of 170, you will need to take into account the total number of candidates and their scores. TNEA ranks are established by the normalized marks of all applicants. Generally speaking, a score of 170 would be considered competitive, but precise rankings can change every year depending on the distribution of scores among applicants. Higher scores generally translate into better ranks, which are typically in the top percentile. To get a more precise estimate of where your score might land you in relation to other applicants, check the official TNEA website or previous year's cutoffs.

Yes, Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) accepts TNEA scores for admission. The college has specific cutoff ranks for different branches of engineering based on the TNEA scores. For example, the cutoff rank for Computer Science and Engineering (SS) in 2021 was 195.02. Additionally, the closing ranks for B.Tech programs at TCE ranged between 924 and 10196 based on TNEA scores. It's important to check the specific cutoff ranks for the desired branch of engineering at TCE to determine eligibility for admission based on TNEA scores.

Exams administered by the Indian Maritime University itself, such as the IMU Common Entrance Test (IMU CET), are typically the basis for admission to programmes offered by IMU Kochi, including the B.Tech in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering, etc.

The university assesses candidates based on their performance in these dedicated law entrance exams, academic qualifications, and possibly interviews, depending on the course.
