Every year, SCTIMST Trivandrum accepts MD admissions in two sessions: the January session and the July session. MD aspirants are required to appear for the INI-CET exam conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi. The application process for the January session of INI-CET usually takes place between September and October of the preceeding year. Candidates willing to take admission in the July session can apply between March and April. Candidates are advised to check the official exam website for exact admission schedule.

As per the prospectus (2025) available on the official SCTIMST Trivandrum website, MD students get a stipend of INR 61,300 per month. The institute's rules regarding HRA, NPA, DA & DA on TA are applicable on the given stipend.
