The TS LAWCET counselling for securing admission into law programmes in Telangana is conducted entirely online. The counselling process has been described below:

1. Registration and Account Creation:

After the TS LAWCET results are declared, qualified candidates will be able to access the counselling portal through the official TSCHE website (lawcet.tsche.ac.in).

You can prioritize your choices by arranging them in your preferred order. You can also add multiple colleges and programmes based on your interests and eligibility.

5. Seat Allotment (Online):

Based on your rank, preferences, and seat availability, the system will generate a provisional seat allotment list.
You can check the allotment list online through the counselling portal.

6. Further Steps (Online/Offline):

After the seat allotment, you might have further actions depending on your situation:

• Accepting the Allotment: If you're satisfied with the allotted seat, you'll need to confirm your acceptance online and pay the required fees. This usually involves reporting to a designated center for document verification (offline process).
• Exercising Further Options: If you're not happy with the allotted seat, you might have the chance to participate in subsequent counselling rounds (if available) or opt for spot counselling conducted by individual colleges (which might have an offline component).

The TS LAWCET result goes through the following stages before being declared:

• Marking and Scores: Based on the final answer key, marks are awarded to each candidate for their chosen answers. The TS LAWCET exam follows a marking scheme where one mark is awarded for each correct answer and there's no negative marking for incorrect attempts.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks:  A minimum qualifying mark, typically around 35% of the total marks, is set by the exam authorities. Only candidates who score above this mark are considered qualified and included in the ranking process.  There may be exceptions to the qualifying marks for reserved categories.
• Merit List Preparation: Scores of all qualified candidates are compiled, and a merit list is prepared by ranking them in descending order of their marks.  In case of ties, a pre-defined set of tie-breaker rules are applied. These rules typically consider marks in specific sections of the exam or the age of the candidate.
• Result Declaration: Finally, the TS LAWCET result is declared online on the official website. This result includes details like the candidate's marks, rank, qualifying status, and sometimes the names of toppers.

After the release of the TS LAWCET result, the following events occur:

• Merit List and Cut-off Marks: The authorities will publish a merit list ranking all the qualified candidates based on their TS LAWCET scores.  This list is used for counselling and seat allotment.  The cut-off marks for various law colleges participating in TS LAWCET will also be released.
• Counselling and Seat Allotment: Based on the rank and preferences of the candidates, counselling will be conducted for seat allotment in various law colleges across Telangana.  During counselling, candidates will have the opportunity to choose colleges and courses based on their rank and seat availability.
• Self-Reporting: During this stage, candidates need to visit the college allotted to them and pay the admission fee to secure their seat. 

Downloading your TS LAWCET scorecard is highly recommended, even if you don't necessarily need it at this very moment. You need to download the score card because of the following details:

• Official Record:  The scorecard serves as an official document that verifies your performance in the TS LAWCET exam. It contains details like your name, roll number, marks secured, rank, and qualifying status. This can be crucial during counselling and seat allotment, or even for future reference.
• Future Use: You might need the scorecard for various purposes down the line, such as applying to universities outside of the state that consider TS LAWCET scores for admission.
• Safekeeping:  Having a downloaded copy ensures you have access to your results even if the website faces technical issues or undergoes maintenance in the future.

While there might not be an immediate requirement to download the scorecard, it's a safe and convenient practice to keep a copy for your records.

There's no single definitive "good score" in TS LAWCET 2026. It depends on two main factors:

• Competition Level: The higher the number of students applying for the exam and verifying for the same seats you desire, the higher the score you'll need to stand out.
• Target College Preferences: Scores required for admission can vary depending on the law college you're aiming for. Top colleges will naturally have a higher cut-off (minimum qualifying score) compared to lesser-known institutions.

Here's a general guideline to consider:

• Qualifying the Exam: Scoring at least 35% (42 marks out of 120) is necessary to be eligible for counselling and seat allotment (except for SC/ST candidates who have no minimum qualifying marks).
• Good Chance for Various Colleges: Scoring above the 50th percentile is generally considered a good score. This increases your chances of securing a seat in a decent college.
• Higher Score for Top Colleges: Aiming for a score in the 80th to 90th percentile range (or even higher) is recommended if you specifically target admission into prestigious law colleges in Telangana. You can find previous years' cut-off marks for different colleges online to get a better understanding of the required score range.
