The University of Salford accepts IELTS score from international students as proof of English language proficiency. Although the ELP scores vary from course to course but, here’s a general layout of the required scores in IELTS:

  • For Undergraduate Courses: IELTS score of 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent
  • For Postgraduate Courses: IELTS score of 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent

Uni of Salford admission needs for Indian students are -

PG - Applicants must hold 3 - 4 year UG degree with 55% overall average. Applicants who have scored less but have relevant work ex. or additional relevant qualifications may be considered for PG

UG - Below grades are usually required exam board -

West Bengal - 50%
ISC awarded by CISCE - 55%
CBSE - 60%
All other state boards - 65%

Once students have submitted their application over Salford application portal, then they are going to receive a notification that their application has arrived safely. This will be notified within 5 minutes of the applicants’ submission. The University of Salford aims to respond to applications within 5 working days and any offer, or rejection, will be sent via email.

The process to get University of Salford CAS is given below:

  • First of all, check that all the information on the unconditional offer is correct. For example: name and passport number, etc. In case any details are changed, contact the official authority
  • Check the video given on the official website of the university and upload documents as needed for CAS

Various unofficial sources have mentioned that Salford University acceptance rate is around 8%. Looking at the acceptance rate, it can be said that the university is highly selective at the time of admission. So, to get into the University of Salford, the applicants are required to meet all the admission requirements. The general admission requirements to get into this university are having a required percentage in the board exams for undergraduate studies. Whereas, for postgraduate studies, the applicants are at least required to have a bachelor’s degree.

There is a different procedure to apply to the University of Salford for undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses. Check the details given below to know about the application process for Salford University:

  • Undergraduate Courses: To apply to the UG courses, the applicants can apply via UCAS
  • Postgraduate Courses: For most of the postgraduate taught courses, the applicants are required to apply via Salford application portal. However, there is an exception to this for some of the courses such as MA Social Work (UCAS), Post-qualifying Health and Social Care (Single Modules), Applied Social Work Practice (CPD) or a Single Module

Salford University makes a decision within ten working days on applications. However, sometimes it takes longer than ten days during busy admission periods. Many International students across the world apply for admission at Salford every year. The University of Salford will notify the admission decision via email. Successful students receive an email containing detailed information on the terms and conditions of admissions. If an applicant applies through UCAS, then the university will notify the applicant of the outcome via the UCAS Hub.
