This has to do with the pronunciation of the University of Washington. The letter "W" is called 'Double U' (pronounced double you). If you shorten the pronunciation of the letter 'W' to one syllable, then it will be just called as Dub. Hence, the university is sometimes referred to as UDub.

Washington State University and the University of Washington are among the top universities in the USA that offer the best education to students. As per the students reviews, the WSU has nationally and world-renowned Veterinary, Agriculture, Engineering, and Broadcast programs. UW has Revered law, Business, and Medical programs. The classes at both UW and WSU felt equal in their difficulty and volume of coursework. However, students get more help and attention at WSU than at UW. Yes, international students wishing to study at Washington University need to submit English language proficiency score. For the same, an IELTS score has to be submitted. In place of IELTS, international students can submit TOEFL or Duolingo scores as well.
