The University of Hyderabad has ranked among the top 10 universities of the country as per the NIRF 2022 rankings. Before June of the year of admission, candidates must have earned at least a three-year bachelor's degree in any discipline recognised by the UGC, the Association of Indian Universities, or the AICTE with a first class ranking (or its equivalent with 60% aggregate). Those who finish their last exams by June are also eligible to apply. Furthermore, applicants need to obtain a valid result from the IIMs' CAT exam. According to the University of Hyderabad's official website, admission to the five-year Integrated M.Tech in Computer Science programme is contingent upon candidates fulfilling the required minimum eligibility and having a valid JEE Main exam result. This five-year Integrated M.Tech degree was introduced by the UoH School of Computer and Information Sciences and will begin in the academic year 2014–15. After five years, students receive an M.Tech degree; however, there is no exit exam.

Based on the NIRF rankings and general assumption by the public, KLU is considered as the best and better than Gitam Hyderabad as it is the oldest university as compared to Gitam and most importantly the placements and alumni Network are much stronger in KLU than Gitam.

Yes, you need to take GITAM Admission Test (GAT) entrance exam to join Geetham University, Hyderabad B.Tech courses. The admission criteria requires candidates to have studied Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics as compulsory subjects in 11th and 12th standards, and to have obtained at least 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA in their Intermediate or 10+2 examination.
