Yes, there is a negative marking scheme in the UPCATET exam. For each correct answer applicants will be given 4 marks. For each incorrect answer, 1/4th of the total marks or 1 mark will be deducted.

The calculation of the score for the respective programmes will be taken into consideration by taking into account all correct & incorrect answers. After preparing the list of all candidates the authorities will prepare the list of successful applicants based on the availability of seats

Applicants who will appear in UPCATET exam should note that marking scheme is same for all the programmes i.e UG, PG & PhD.

For each right answer 3 marks will be awarded & for each in correct answer 1 mark will be deducted.

Though marking scheme remains same but exam pattern is different than other. For all UG & PG courses the number of questions are 200 and total marks allotted to it are 600 while total number of questions for MBA course is 100 & total marks allotted to it are 300 only.

The validity of the UPCATET result is only considered for those candidates who qualify for the exam. The validity of UPCATET results will be valid for one year. Applicants need to use their score card to appear in the counseling for their respective courses in the same year only. After the completion of one year, students will be able to appear with a different scorecard.

Applicants who have appeared in the UPCATET exam and whether they have qualified for the exam should note that the exam conducting authorities don't send any hard copy of the result or score card to the candidates by post.

Since the result & score card of UPCATET will be released in the online mode and it will be in PDF format only. Candidates need to note that no document is shared via post, whether it is an application form acknowledgment, admit card, or result.
