UPCATET 2024 counselling process has started. UPCATET 2024 online registration and online fee payment for the counselling process is over. UPCATET 2024 round 1 seat allotment result was announced on July 2, 2024. UPCATET 2024 counselling process for other courses will start on July 21, 2024, and seat allotment results will be announced on July 31, 2024.

There will be two rounds of UPCATET counselling for BVSc and AH courses and three rounds of counselling for other degrees.

UPCATET Result 2024 was announced on June 22, 2024, for the candidates taking admissions to the UG and PG programmes in agriculture discipline. With the help of login credentials ie., username and password one can download their UPCATET 2024 results. 

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, the exam-conducting institute started the UPCATET 2024 counselling process for admissions to the various courses for which the UPCATET 2024. The counselling process includes various stages where the test takers must register themselves and upload of required documents based on the number of applicants and marks scored by them, the exam officials will be releasing the UPCATET 2024 merit list and UPCATET cut-offs.

Q:   Is it mandatory to be a native or having a domicile or UP to appear for the UPCATET exam?

A:

Yes, applicants who want to appear in the UPCATET 2024 exam must be a citizen of Uttar Pradesh state. According to the UPCATET eligibility criteria, the applicant must be

  1. Such students who are living in UP from the last 5 years and have completed the required qualification from state only. 

  2. Such citizens of India whose father’s residence or place of origin is UP and he/she also belong to UP. 

  3. Such citizens of India whose father’s residence or their residence is not from UP but they acquired and have been living in the state for 5 years. 

 

Q:   Will open and distance education be considered for educational qualification of UPCATET eligibility?

The exam conducting authority has clearly mentioned in the official broucher that "Open & Distance Education" will be considered for educational qualification eligibility criteria of UPCATET. 

Applicants who have completed their education as full time course will be eligible to fill the form and apply online. Only those students are required to fill the application form who fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities.

What is UPCATET?

The UPCATET is a state-level entrance exam that is conducted once a year. The UP Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET) is an entrance exam conducted to provide admission to different UG and PG programmes for Agriculture disciplines.

This entrance exam is conducted for the candidates who possess the domicile of Uttar Pradesh State. These courses are offered at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur; Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut; Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda etc.  The UPCATET exam conducted for three hours duration and the test mode is offline (pen & paper) only.

The notification of UPCATET 2024 was out and application form of UPCATET 2024 was released in online mode. The exam conducting authorities released it on March 17, 2024. To check the notification applicants could check here or visit the official website of campus.

Applicants were given around 1 month and 20 days to fill the form. It could be filled till May 7, 2024

Additionally 1 day to pay the application fee of UPCATET 2024 was also given.  The UPCATET exam is to be conducted on June 11 & 12, 2024

 

UPCATET 2024 Application Process

UPCATET 2024 online registration for the session 2024 started on March 17, 2024, in online mode. Candidates could fill out the UPCATET 2024 application form til May 17, 2024. For UPCATET 2024 registrations, candidates had to fill the application form in online mode on the official website of the exam.

Students first had to visit the official website click on the 'New Registration' tab and then click on the 'I agree' checkbox. Upon clicking on 'New Registration tab, candidates had to fill up their basic details including contact details followed by which the registration credentials were generated. After this, they had to login and fill up the complete UPCATET application form and pay the application fee. Candidates had to pay the application fee online (via net banking/ debit card).

UPCATET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UPCATET 2024 for different courses i.e BSc and BFSc is given below:

  • BSc (Honours) Agriculture/ BSc (Honours) Horticulture/ BSc (Honours) Forestry: Candidates should have cleared Class 12 with Agricultural Science/ Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM)/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) subject to meet UPCATET eligibility criteria.
  • Bachelor in Fisheries Science (BFSc): Candidates should have cleared Class 12 with Agricultural Science/ Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) subject to meet UPCATET 2024 eligibility criteria.
  • BSc (Honours) Home Science: Candidates should have cleared Class 12 in the Arts stream with Home Science/ PCB/ PCM/ PCMB/ Agricultural Science subject to be eligible for UPCATET exam. Only female candidates can opt for this course, informs the official website.

Age limit: As of December 31, 2024, candidates should be more than 16 years and less than 22 years in age. However, for the BVSc & H course, candidates should be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years in age as of December 31, 2024. It may be noted that candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC category have an age relaxation of five years for any course they apply for.

Q:   Is there any eligibility criteria to apply UPCATET 2024 exam?

A:

There are different eligibility criteria decided by the exam conducting authorities whcih includes both age as well as education for UG courses. There is no age limit for PG and PhD courses.  

For BVSC & H course the minimum and maximum age limit of candidate need to be 17 and 25 by Decemeber 31st 2024. While for all other course the minimum and maximum age limit of candidate need to be 16 and 22 by Decemeber 31st 2024 for CUPCATET 2024 exam. 

Note: Person with Disability (PwD) will be given a relexation of 5 years in upper age limit.  

 

Q:   What are the application fees to fill the UPCATET exam form?

A:

The application fee is required to be paid after filling the form. otherwise the form will not be accepted by the authorities. This year updated fees will be mentioned in UPCATET 2024 notification but according to previous year details, male candidates from General & OBC category have to pay INR 1350 while all other male & female candidates have to pay INR 1100 application fees. 

The application fees need to be paid online via Debit card, Credit card, Net banking etc. Once the fee is paid students are required to download the receipt of fees as some time due to any error if their candidature is rejected then they can raise their concern along with payment proof.

UPCATET 2024 Admit Card

The exam conducting authorities released the UPCATET 2024 admit card on May 27, 2024. The admit card was released on the official website of UPCATET 2024 in online mode. Candidates can download their UPCATET admit card by logging in with their registration credentials. To download the admit card, candidates needed to enter details such as their registration number/ full name, date of birth, and course. The UPCATET 2024 admit card will appear on the screen and it has to be downloaded in PDF format. Q:   What to do if I forget the password of the UPCATET admit card login?

A:

Applicants who forget the password of their admit card of UPCATET while downloading it.  Candidates can recover the password of their UPCATET exam by clicking on the 'Forgot Password' button at the bottom of the login window. The exam conducting authorities will send the password of UPCATET to the registered email of the candidates. 

In case of not recieving any email applicants need to immediately contact to exam conducting authorities.

After the conclusion of the exam we will update UPCATET 2024 exam analysis. According to previous year details the paper was considered to be moderate. Some students said that the exam was challenging. While the difficulty level of the PCM group was tough, that of the PCB and PAG groups was easy to moderate. 

Q:   What are the options of the questions paper in UPCATET exam?

Applicants while filling their application form will be given four choice, PCB, PCM, PAG, and PHS. Students will have to choose any of this choice in the form as per their education qualification. They will be given paper of their choice in the UPCATET exam. There will be no change in the examination hall for any paper under any cicrumstances hence applicants must choose carefully while filling the form. 

Candidates will be given admission to the similar course for which they have appeared in the exam. There will be 200 questions in exam out of them 20 questions will be from General Knowledge topic and rest 180 will be from the group for which they have applied.  

 

Q:   What is marking scheme of UPCATET exam?

A:

The marking scheme of UPCATET exam is as follows:
- The UPCATET exam consists of multiple-choice questions, where each question carries 4 marks.
- The UPCATET exam has a total of 200 questions, and the maximum marks that can be scored are 800.
- To qualify the UPCATET exam, applicants need to score passing marks. 
The total duration alloted to this UPCATET exam will be 3 hours

While filling the online application form of UPCATET, applicants are given 4 options to choose, which paper they want to appear for the exam. Their paper will be of same combination which they have filled in their application form.

The exam conducting authority will declare the UPCATET 2024 result on the official website of the exam around a month after conclusion of exam. To check the UPCATET result, candidates need to enter their roll number/ registration number, date of birth, and course.  After that UPCATET results will appear on the screen and they would have to download their scorecards. The result or scorecard carried information on the section-wise and overall scores and percentiles along with the cutoff marks.

Q:   Can a non-resident of UP fill out the form of UPCATET?

A:

No, it's mandatory to have a domicile of UP to get a normal seat in UPCATET exam. Authorities ask for the UP domicile during counseling process.  Applicants who want to apply UPCATET online form must fulfil both age wise as well as educational eligibility criteria. 

The Eligibility criteria for UPCATET is mentioned below:

  • Indian citizenship.
  • Candidate must pass 12th standard exam from a recognised board. 
  • Uttar Pradesh domicile status.
 

Q:   What is the difficulty level of UPCATET 2024?

A:

The UPCATET exam is compratively easy in comparison to JEE Main, BITSAT etc. exam. Applicants who have secured atleast 60 % marks in their academic exam are more likely to qualify the exam. Since it is state owned examination and number of users are also less in comparison to other competitve exam. 

Applicants just need to complete the syllabus within time and practise more and more to qualify the exam with good marks. 

 

 

 

Q:   Am I eligible for UPCATET if I pass the compartment exam for Class 12?

A:

Yes, applicants who pass the 12th standard exam with compartment will also be eligible to appear in the UPCATET exam. 

There are no passing percentage marks for the UPCATET exam. Candidates need to just pass the exam. But there are wise criteria which must need to abide by. Students should not be more than 16 years and less than 22 years of age on December 31, 2024. 

Applicants who fulfill both criteria need to fill UPCATET application form and appear in the exam.

Q:   Can a student from Bihar appear for UPCATET exam.

A:

No a student who belong to Bihar can not appear in UPCATET exam. As according to UPCATET eligibility criteria:

A) Such students who are living in UP from the last 5 years and have completed the required qualification from state only. 

B) Such citizens of India whose father’s residence or place of origin is UP and he/she also belong to UP. 

C) Such citizens of India whose father’s residence or their residence is not from UP but they acquired and have been living in the state for 5 years.

 

Q:   When will the UPCATET 2024 exam held?

A:

S.V.P University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut , the examination conducting body will be conducting UPCATET 2024 UG, PG and PhD entrance Exam in June 2024 tentatively. The Post Graduate and PhD examinations will be conducted in the morning session and the MBA will be conducted in the afternoon session. The exact details about UPCATET 2024 notification will be out along with release of broucher.

 

Q:   When will UPCATET result 2024 be declared?

A:

The results of UPCATET 2024 will be declared around a month after the commencement of the exam. According to the previous year's dates, UPCATET results may be released in June 2024. The exact dates of the exam, result & counseling will be mentioned in the official notification only.

The authorities might release the official notification of UPCATET in March 2024.  Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Ayodhya will declare the results in online mode only.  Applicants can check their results by entering the login credentials i.e. Registration number and password.
