Hi Sushma,
Both courses are good, it depends on where your interest lies. If you are also planning to take one of these subjects as your mains optional, then I would suggest please go through the UPSC syllabus and previous year question papers of mains stage and then decide which course would be best for you.

Absolutely, yes. You should do BE because you can start preparing for UPSC while studying for BE. Also, studying BE will help you upgrade your thinking and aptitude level.

Go to COEP, if you want to appear for competitive exam. There is no club in VJTI. The atmosphere is better in COEP.

Hi Kamran,
For geography, the best source is NCERT(XI & XII) and Oxford atlas, which is more than enough for the prelims part. Additionally, if you have time, you can for geography by Goh Cheng Leong and other guide material. For economics, best would be Indian Economy by Ramesh Singh. Apart from this, Mrunal videos on economics are depth full and good for covering the entire economics syllabus.

Hi Chirag,
The students who wish to join for UPSC Exams SPIPA Centre should be graduate or PG from a valid University of India. Further, the other conditions are:
Mother Tongue of the candidates should be Gujarati or 1st Degree of Graduation from Gujarat or Ordinarily, a residence of Gujarat will be entitled to apply for admission.
This is a full-time course and candidates are not allowed to join any job or outside study.

Hi Rakesh,
It is not necessary to join the JNU programme, because if that would have been the case then engineers opting for arts/humanities optional like public administration, geography or history would not have been cracking the civil services examination. The syllabus of optional is desgined in such a way, which can be finished in 6 to 8 months, if done regressively. Second, there is no issue joining the JNU programme as it is good for career enhancement too, but preparing for civil services cannot be the only factor.
