There is no recommended dress code by the UPSSSC in order to appear for the UP VDO exam. However, the candidates taking the exam are advised to do the following thing before appearing for the exam:
- Attire: Candidates should not wear shoes or footwear with thick soles. Also, candidates must not wear clothes with large buttons or steel buttons to the test centre.

Yes, the UPSSSC VDO exam follows a negative marking scheme. The commission make panalty of 0.5 marks for the incorrect answers. However, there is no negative marking for the unanswered questions. The candidates taking the exam are advised to mark the answers carefully and while preparation they should focus on accuracy or they will lose their marks. The candidates should keep following things while taking the UP VDO exam:
