Both NIE Institute of Technology and Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering are reputed engineering colleges in Mysore, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and approved by AICTE. However, there are some differences between them:
- Ranking: According to the NIRF 2020 ranking, NIE Institute of Technology is ranked 175 among the engineering colleges in India, while Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering is not ranked.

BTech Mechanical Engineering at NIE Institute of Technology is similar to the Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering. I think there is barely a difference in that sector. Both are the same in the workshops and teachings.

Final year students can also apply on provisional basis. Candidates must have valid GATE score. |

Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering provide good facilities all around the campus such as Auditorium, Boys Hostel, Cafeteria, Girls Hostel, Gym, Hospital / Medical Facilities, Hostel, Labs, Library, Sports Complex, Wi-Fi Campus. Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering has also been rated 4.3 for Campuslife.
