With that rank you will get electronics & instrumentation engineering in Vellore campus. Computer science specialization closing rank is 9000 and CSE core in 6000 rank. You have to take two courses of that desired branch in which you have to go and they will select first 2 or 3 out of many students for upgradation of their desired branches. Hope this helps. 1. VIT rank is determined on the basis of percentile you scored in each subject.
2. Percentile is based on how you score in each subject compared to nearby computer system.
3. VIT does not disclose marks in each subject.
4 minimum 10 - 15 questions in exam are from previous year JEE main paper. So make sure you can solve previous year JEE main questions. I think this information will help you for VIT entrance exam

At my admission time, there was only Vellore and Chennai branch two years ago and these branches are recently opened by VIT. Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000. So, you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well with each category admission fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank but there are 2nd category as well if you want CSE but you have to pay more for that. Mandatory Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
Candidate must have secured above-mentioned minimum percentage in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics:
For SC - 50%
For ST - 50%
For North Eastern State - 50%
Candidates who have not appeared for the VITEEE are not eligible for admission.

Hi,
It is not easy to get computer science and engineering course in both SRM University and VIT University with these ranks.
In VIT it is even difficult to get a course with a normal fee. You need to pay more.
In SRM you cannot get the main campus but you can get the other campuses and the Amaravathi campus.

Yes, you can take admission in VIT, Vellore campus but the branches available might not be of your choice.

Hi Reeja Manoj, you have a good rank so you can get a seat in VIT.
Since CSE (bioinformatics) is available only at VIT Vellore (main campus), your rank is not enough get main campus. But if you can pay more money then you may get. You can get it in category 2,3,4 or 5 means your fees will be atleast Rs 300000 per annum.
You have been called for counseling so that you attend it and then decide.
