It is the combination of lines, shapes, texture, and color to create an aesthetically pleasing or striking look. To be a good designer you need to have creative abilities and good aesthetic sense. More concentration is on graphics, images, audio and video for presentation of information.
There are various courses that you can pursue depending on the time that you are willing to invest, your budget, the area of specialization that you choose.However as per the current requirement of the industry, Graduation is considered to be a basic requirement.
Some eligibility details are mentioned below:
Diploma –Class 10th pass from a recognised board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelor's Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
Post-graduation degree: Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 45% marks.

Web Development involves both web design aspects as well as programming part of website, its communication with the backend database, security, data encryption and communication with other applications. To be into web development, you need to have good expertise in programming languages like XML, Java, advanced Java, JavaScript, Asp.Net etc. alongwith tools like Flash, Adobe etc.

Ruchika, I am not sure how good you are with maths and programming. If you are, then you must pick up Programming and take a language whether PHP/ HTML5 (web dev), .Net (for software dev) Java/ Android (for apps) or C#/ Unity (for games). However like i mentioned, you must be good with programming to move ahead in this area since you have to compete with other MCAs and BTech(CS) applicants. So choose your internship/ industrial training very carefully. Do not just go for the cheapest to save money. See the IT company's credentials on the net. for example if someone provide LIVE PROJECTS are they there near the TOP on PORTALS like JUSTDIAL? Or if the company is registered with STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) - all good IT companies are registered with STPI. If a company spends money to market themselves to customers, only then they are able to get LIVE PROJECTS. Also, if you are an average programmer, and if you you're better with creative work, then you can head for web design or even vfx/ animation since there is a huge requirement coming up in that domain.
