Medical College of Wisconsin is one of the premier and third the largest medical college in the country. It is consistently ranked among the top medical in the world by major ranking agencies. The QS World University Rankings 2023 ranked MCW in the range of #351-400 in the world. The Medical College of Wisconsin has maintained its QS ranking of #351-400 for medicin and dentistry same as in 2022. Whereas, the US News and World Report 2023 ranked MCW #35 in the category of Beset Medical School and #26 Best Medical School for primary care.

The school was established in 1893 and is the largest research center in eastern Wisconsin. 

MCW is the largest private research institution in Wisconsin. MCW faculty direct and collaborate on thousands of leading-edge studies, including clinical trials, laboratory research and community-engaged research, annually.
