DU's 3rd cut-off list is out!
DU's third cut-off list got declared on Monday, July 2, 2012. Aspirants seeking admission to courses like BA, BA (honours), B.Com and B.Com (honours) have a reason to cheer as these sought-after courses in some of the 'popular' colleges are still open. However, the list showed a negligible drop in scores, while some colleges maintained their second cutoff percentage for admissions.
Commerce:
Hot favourite among students, colleges likes Hans Raj,Indraprastha, Ramjas and Sri Venkateshwar have seats open for B.Com (honours). Where Hans Raj and IP stuck to their second cut-off in the third list, Ramjas and Sri Venkateswara lowered it by a mere 0.5%. In Lady Shri Ram, the cut off came from 96.5 to 96.25 per cent.
The admission for this much in demand course is still open in as many as 24 colleges out of the 55 colleges offering it. (Read more)
Humanities:
For students seeking admission to courses like BA (honours) in economics, there are around 12 colleges including Hans Raj, Ramjas and Sri Venkateswara who have opened their doors for entrants. A 1% fall in this course was seen at Kalindi and Shyam Lal.
BA (honours) English is also open in 13 colleges (both CATE and other inclusive), including campus colleges - IP and SGTB Khalsa.
Besides this, around 18 colleges are taking in students for BA (honours) history; colleges include Hans Raj, IP and SGTB Khalsa. A decrease in the cut-off ranging between 0.5% and 6% was witnessed.
As many as 34 colleges are taking in students seeking admissions to BA programmes. Decrease in the cut-off was registered somewhere at 1%-8 %. Deshbandhu and Zakir Husain colleges registered a fall of 8%, followed by Swami Shraddhanand at 7%.
Science:
For the science aspirants, many colleges have closed their doors to admission. But colleges who have declared their cut-off for the science courses have stuck to their second cut-off list.
Moti Lal Nehru, Lady Shri Ram and Mata Sundri are the only colleges which are still open for admissions to B.Sc (honours) mathematics. At Vivekananda College, students can hope for admission against cancellation. (Read more)
